Project Ballet

Ballet Mini Camp for ages 3 & 4 years old

Ballet Mini Camp is a single-day 1 hour and 45 minute ballet camp experience. Each Mini Camp will include classes in ballet technique, ballet variations (learning choreography), contemporary dance, stretching, and ballet history. Mini camp will also have craft time and snack time. Each Mini Camp day will be different, so your child can sign-up for as many camps as you'd like, with a new experience each day!

Open to male and female children ages 3-9 years old. Age is determined as of June 1, 2021. Campers must be fully toilet trained and must be willing to participate independently without a parent. Enrollment will be limited to eight 3-4 year old campers, and eighteen 5-9 year old campers. There will be four camp teachers for each Mini Camp.

Level Placement:

Mini Camp corresponds with the Preschool and Preparatory levels at Project Ballet. Campers will be split into groups based on age and previous experience. Mini Camp is appropriate for beginners as well as those with previous experience.

Morning Mini Camps are from 9:45-11:30am. Drop-off will be from 9:30-9:45am and Pick-up will be at 11:30am. Afternoon Mini Camps are from 4:00-5:45pm. Drop-off will be from 3:45-4:00pm and Pick-up will be at 5:45pm.

Drop-off and Pick-up:

Drop-off and pick-up will be via a car line. Campers will be greeted at the car line by our camp teachers. Please contact us prior to camp if you and your child would like to schedule a time to come during our normal business hours to tour our facility. We want to make sure that your child is comfortable attending camp independently.

Parent Observation:

We will not have parent observation during mini camp. Campers must be willing to participate independently without a parent. Campers will bring home a craft, and will have a ballet choreography dance to show you when they get home.

Campers should bring a small bag with their ballet slippers and a personal non-messy snack for snack time. Campers are encouraged to wear ballet clothes such as a leotard and tights, however the dress code is relaxed so they will be permitted to wear any comfortable clothing that allows them to move freely and modestly. Long hair should be pulled back off the face in a ballet bun, pony tail, or similar style.

Ballet slippers can be purchased at Standing Ovation Performance Apparel, at stores such as WalMart or Target, or online. Traditionally, females wear pink ballet slippers, and males wear black or white ballet slippers, but any color is perfectly fine for camp. Please have your child arrive for camp wearing regular shoes, with their ballet slippers and snack in a small bag. They will have an opportunity to change into their ballet slippers upon arrival. Please see our Covid Policies listed below, for policies regarding masks.

Each Mini Camp session is $30. Camp tuition is non-refundable. In the case of quarantine or illness, there will NOT be a virtual option, and campers will forfeit their spot. However, ill or quarantined campers will have the option to transfer to another session if enrollment permits. Please note: If Project Ballet has to cancel the camp, your full tuition will be refunded.

Covid Policies:

- Campers may not attend if ill or if they have been placed under quarantine. In the case of quarantine or illness, there will not be a virtual option, however campers will have the option to transfer to another session if enrollment permits.

- Campers will be kept socially distant at all times. Our facility is 15,000 square feet so it is very easy to spread out and keep children distanced.

- Our facility is professionally cleaned each night, and is disinfected between each group of students. Hand sanitizer is readily available.

- Project Ballet Mask Policy as of January 2021: When Allen County is "red" or "orange", we require masks at all times for ages 5 and up. (Students may only remove their mask when eating their snack.) If/when Allen County returns to "yellow", we will only require masks during arrival and pick-up, and when students are moving through the common areas of the building. If/when Allen County would be given the green light to return to normal, then we will dismiss the mask requirement entirely. Children ages 3 and 4 are not required to wear a mask, but are encouraged to if they can tolerate it. (Our mask policy will continue to be revised to meet government recommendations and requirements.)
